SCIENCE FOR THE BAY
Inspiring the next generation of scientists
WHO WE ARE
Science in the Bay was founded by Deepesh Aggarwal and Vikram Iyer. Our mission
is to inspire the next generation of Scientists and help them learn Physics, Mathematics,
Chemistry, and Biology. By using hands-on activities, Science for The Bay ensures that
students understand the material rather than memorizing facts and information. We try and teach STEM information in a way that does not prioritize rote memorization, but rather through games that will enhance students' recall of information. Our classes hope to give a basic understanding of subjects so students can pursue the things that they find interesting at school or outside of school
Science in the Bay is an organization teaching kids of all grade and income levels topics
ranging from Biology to Python programming. Science in the Bay differs from other mentor organizations, as we are focused to give kids who may not have enough resources for high education teaching and knowledge that would help them fulfill their goals in life. Our goal is to make sure that kids are not held back from learning because of financial struggles and are able to compete and learn information which would help them succeed.
We teach basic chemistry topics that range from basic atomic structure all the way to ions and electron configuration. Topics include but are not limited to ions, electron configuration, ionic and covalent bonds, isotopes, and more!
Using hands-on activities and experiments, we will cover Newtons laws and topics that are usually not covered in the classroom
These zoom virtual classes will help the students learn about anatomy with fun and hands-on activities. It is suitable for students grades 4 - 8th graders. In a one hour per week class, Students will learn about topics ranging from learning about the brain and its functions to the Endocrine system and hormone production
We see every challenge as an opportunity, and this initiative helps us ensure that our partners are better prepared to manage the unique situations they find themselves in. We are invested in an innovative approach that empowers our community and delivers the support they need, when they need it.
We teach basic python programming, with topics including basic data structures, lists, dictionaries, functions, file I/O, and more!
